World News : Christina Aguilera Joins Twitter!

Last week we learned that Christina Aguilera, one of the judges on the new NBC singing competition show The Voice, would be signing up for Twitter so that she can help promote her new show. Today we learn that Xtina has opened her official Twitter profile and is ready to share her tweets with the world.Faced with 140 characters, the star, who recently got arrested, took to tweeting messages straight away!

"Here goes my first Tweet! Brace yourselves... So excited to connect with all my fans here. xo - Xtina."Adding an hour later: "Thanks for the welcome to Twitter. I'm getting the hang of this. Never thought I'd say the word 'hashtag.' Pandora's box has been opened."

Joining Twitter is a good step for a star who is seeking to fix her image, and promote a big new project. Aguilera, who just divorced husband Jordan Bratman, famously goofed up the National Anthem at the Super Bowl and more recently, was arrested for public intoxication with new boyfriend, Matthew Rutler.Unfortunately, The Real Xtina has yet to tweet anything with her brand spanking new account.

It remains to be seen if Xtina plans to use her Twitter account solely for the promotion of The Voice (which is likely) or if she will use it to communicate with fans in a more personal way. The world waits with baited breath for Xtina‘s first tweet. Are you excited?

Christina Aguilera was arrested Monday night alongside her wasted boyfriend Matt Rutler and her mugshot just leaked.Matt was cited for driving under the influence when he blew a .09 on his breathalyzer test. Christina was taken into custody for public drunkenness.Christina’s excessive drinking and her meltdowns doing the rounds.

The L.A. Sheriff’s Department’s rep Steve Whitmore had commented that Aguilera was quite cooperative during her arrest and “not belligerent in anyway whatsoever” through the process. For someone who was that hammered, we also have to say, that mugshot isn’t half-bad at all.

Christina was booked for public intoxication, while her boyfriend, Matthew Rutler was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

Christina Aguilera Super Bowl National Anthem : Wow, I missed this part of the Super Bowl as I was at the gym lifting weights and playing basketball. This is a horrible performance by pop singer Christina Aguilera as she messes up the lyrics of the National Anthem.The offense? She replaced "o'er the ramparts we watched" with "what so proudly we watched," which you might have missed unless you were checking your Twitter account or are really good with the lyrics.



To be fair, it's a stressful gig, a difficult song and, frankly, hard to tell exactly what the heck she was singing in some of the showier parts, but let's cut her some slack, huh? At least it was better than Roseanne's back in the day, right?And Michele's performance? Check it out after the jump.
