This is, by far, one of the best love stories I’ve read.
Cara is heading to Nashville to begin her singing career when she pulls over at a rest stop in the middle of the night. She’s at a vending machine when she sees, via the reflective glass, a young man staring at her… Will, for his part, is instantly attracted to her. There’s a bit of conversation before they kiss and at first I thought this was going to be some sex romp but it turns out to be so much more.
Will is a romantic, sonnet-quoting, blue-eyed Irishman who also happens to be a vampire. He’s not one of those broody, over-done, rap-loving twinkling vamps. He wears his heart on his sleeve, quotes Shakespeare and is a total sweetheart. Cara isn’t uptight, helpless or boring. She has plans to be a country singer, knows what she wants and she comes across as the kind of woman you would want to hang out with. Cara has a couple of “dumb” moments but then again, I liked her so much that I could easily forgive her.
I love how this was written. The writing is smooth and almost lyrical. Will and Cara’s attraction is intense; their shared love for the written word, music, and their time together is just so romantic that you can’t help but to sigh. Will and Cara are believable characters. Their personalities were so in sync, so sweet and tender. Will is focused on Cara without being domineering. He doesn’t have to beat his chest and take charge. They work well together.
As far as the love scenes go, they were perfectly written and full of passion. You can feel the heat and emotion without it being so graphic to the point of being textbook sex. This is the kind of writing that I enjoy.
My only complaint is that it is too short, way too short. But then again, when I come across a story that I really like, I don’t want it to end.
Love Tattoo gets high marks from me and I hope potential readers will enjoy it as much as I have.

Immortal as well, the remaining five have together lived for over a thousand years.
As Gannon grows closer to Arwen, he finds himself fighting to keep his true self hidden. Even more frightening, when they make love, he starts to absorb her life energy causing him to put some distance between them. But when another of their kind arrives on the scene, revealing what caused the demise of their people, Gannon is faced with letting Arwen die or risking the rest of humanity to save her.

Ms Chenery excels in writing about otherworldly men living amongst us humans who are not complete, until they find the love of their life. This time it isn’t werewolves but the Alt, a winged race of beings almost completely wiped out by a pandemic which killed all but a handful, who found that aside from their immunity, they had gained the ability to control the elements and were now immortal. I’m not sure why a bunch of immortals would pick singing as a career, but I suppose that it makes more sense than them choosing to spend the centuries processing tax returns. The surviving Alt becomes the very successful rock group Soar, hiding their wings and distinctively silver eyes, and touring the world. Figure skating coach Arwen Greyson is a huge fan of Soar, in particular the lead singer, Gannon. When she and her friend go to one of their concerts, Arwen actually feels that Gannon is really singing to her alone.
Little does she realize that it isn’t fantasy. Gannon is drawn to her sufficiently to persuade his fellow band mates to stay in town for long enough, for him to get to know this woman who stirs him like no other. Arwen thinks she is experiencing a waking dream when the object of her fantasies turns up at the rink one evening, and promptly falls flat on his backside on the ice. Arwen is no groupie, and doesn’t fall straight into bed with Gannon. As Gannon comes to the realization that what he feels for Arwen is more than a fleeting attraction, he worries about how he can reveal the truth about himself without scaring Arwen away. This is further complicated when Arwen affects his control over his abilities in a way that is could well prove fatal to her.
As always Ms Chenery writing is a treat. I can’t wait to see what she serves up with the rest of the Angels of Rock.

Winter and His Twins in the second book in the Sanctuary series. The theme of the series, people finding a safe place to live and love, continues in this novella. After being beaten by an abusive ex, Winter calls his sister, Spring, for help. She sends Garrett and Hawk, two of her brothers-in-law who just happen to be in the same city, to check on him. Winter’s injury leaves him with casts on his arms that mean he can’t really use his hands. Garrett and Hawk recognize their mate immediately. They take care of him and take him back to Sanctuary with them.
The story is told in Ms. McKenzie’s usual fluid, inviting writing style. I think that’s what keeps me coming back to her stories again and again. However, the characters and the plot in this one didn’t quite ring true and the climax seemed a bit contrived. A little more character development would have solved both problems. Winter, Garrett, and Hawk were very flat characters, and I really wanted to know them better. I wanted to know why they fell in love with one another, aside from the whole ‘meant to be’ aspect. I applaud Ms. McKenzie for mentioning some of the ‘coming out’ and abusive relationship issues gays must deal with.
Overall, the characters were sweet and loving. The sex was romantic, and the story was a fun, quick read.

Lily thought that she would be able to leave her past behind her and come back to a cabin that she shared in the past with her parents. The only problem is that she had no idea that wolves would ruin her weekend and shatter her weekend bliss. That is not the only problem, she is a breeder and about to realize that her future has began but no idea that there would be two sexy cowboys that would give their life for her.
Danger is all around her and she has only one person that has come to her rescue, Chaz, and he will do anything in order to save her. Chaz was a person from the past that she had certain little fantasies about. He does his best in order to get her away from the wolves but there is something that needs to happen in order for them to leave her alone. Mate. He is compassionate and sincere but there is only one problem that he has—sharing her with his partner, Kade. The only problem is that the wolf that turned him has his own agenda in regards to Lily.
You can clearly sense that Kade is the alpha because of how he handles himself but there is something about his character that leaves you sensing that there is more. He has something that he needs to resolve in order to be happy with Lily beside him. He understands that Chaz is her mate but he has feelings for her since he is the alpha. Their feelings are shared between them because of the claiming but what happened in the past will come back to haunt him. I had fun reading this story and feared for Lily to see if she could truly be what was destined in her future. Read this story and see if she is able to cope with the distance between her and Kade, can she really leave them and never return because of what she did? See if they can truly have a happily ever after even after mating.

He’s here. Catherine slipped into the servants’ tent between the parked caravan trucks and paused to catch her breath. She was alone. Finally.
Javier had found her. She had no idea how he had managed to track her this far south, but he had, and now her whole plan was in jeopardy.
She wiped away a tear of frustration. Javier had abandoned her almost two centuries ago. Now he waltzed back into her life, expecting to pick up right where they had left off. He should have known that things had changed. Life wasn’t the same as when they were both young senators in Barcelona. It was more complicated now, and more dangerous.
Of course, Javier wouldn’t see it that way. Within hours, he’d probably sweep into this tent with his usual bravado and demand to know why she’d run away. She didn’t want to answer that question, or any of the others that swam in that thick skull of his. What would she tell him, that she left him because she had finally grown up? That after a century of hoping and praying for his return she had given up and moved on with her life?
She wouldn’t give that pompous windbag the time of day if he was the last male in the Immortal Realm. It didn’t matter how gorgeous he looked, or what wicked things he could do with those fangs. He couldn’t just sweep into her life and expect to control it. No one could.
Now his presence here put both of their lives in danger. If Feroas had any idea that a vampire and a werewolf were in his camp, he’d have them both killed. He could do it, too. She had no doubt about that. Few knew about Feroas’ ability to manipulate magick and emotions, bending them to his will. She knew, however. That was why she had to get Javier out of here, fast.
She moistened her lips as his image flashed once again through her mind’s eye. Javier’s appearance hadn’t changed much since she had last seen him. His white robe couldn’t mask his broad, muscular shoulders or his gorgeous backside. He still liked to arch that noble brow at her, and give orders with those firm, commanding lips. It couldn’t hide his earthy scent or cover the power and confidence that radiated from his body. His presence was a heady aphrodisiac for a wolf. Her natural instinct was to submit to such an alpha male. And those black, fathomless, eyes… it was as if he could caress her soul with a glance — just like he often did when they were a couple.
She shook her head in frustration. He was vampire, forbidden in every way. They were lowly, obtuse creatures that put their own needs before anyone else’s. At one time she’d thought Javier was different. He’d proved her wrong, though. She had to remember her ex-lover’s true loyalties. They weren’t with her, that was for sure. If they were, he never would have left her all of those years ago to face the bigoted Immortal Council alone. At the end of the day, all vampires were scum of the Earth. She was better off without them.
Only, how did she tell him that and not piss him off? An angry vampire — especially one with Javier’s talents — could ruin everything. The best course of action was to gently put him in his place and then disappear, just like he did to her all of those years ago.
A sudden breeze brushed through the opening in the tent. It drifted through her silk robes and brushed over her skin. Cold speared her core despite the hot desert sun. He was looking for her. Strong vampires like Javier could walk in between seconds, in the space of ancient immortals. As a werewolf, she could do the same, but she lacked his speed and skill. Her movements were like a toddler learning to walk. His were the smooth, fluid movements of a master.
She had to protect herself from his touch. One way would be to put distance between them. She couldn’t run out of the reach of his magick, as she did in Barcelona. That would mean abandoning the mission, and she couldn’t do that. Unlike Javier, she had more to think about than just herself.
Catherine grabbed the little metal box on the table and lifted the lid. A small red jewel on a leather strap sat on a mound of black silk. The bloodstone’s pulsing glow told her danger was near. She’d had two of them made a long time ago. One for her, and one for the human senator who had helped her pass sanctions against the vampires. Javier had insisted. He knew better than anyone what his kind was capable of doing, so he showed her how to forge the stones from an ancient magick. They warned if when a vampire was near, or if a vampire’s thoughts were focused on her. The stone didn’t give her a lot of warning, but it was enough so that she could protect her body from the deadly fangs. Over the years she had improved upon her stone until it could protect her from the simpler vampire magicks, like glamour. Unlike others on the Council, she’d never believed all the vampires were dead. She knew better.
Unfortunately, all the shielding spells in the world wouldn’t protect her heart. Javier was obtuse, yes, but he was also charming, and he knew her well. He could use that knowledge to bring her to her knees, if she let him. Catherine ran her fingers over the bloodstone, its pulsing heat warm against her hand. It sensed Javier. He was looking for her, the fool. She had taken off the stone when she entered Feroas’ camp, not willing to draw attention to herself. She’d had no idea that Javier would follow this far south.
She closed the lid to the box and set it back on the table. Courage. While the bloodstone was powerful enough to avoid his physical touch and his glamour, it would do nothing against his stronger powers. What was she going to do? She couldn’t protect herself with a magickal shield or risk exposing both their identities to the king. Months of planning would be washed down the drain because a pig-headed vampire wouldn’t take no for an answer.
She turned her head and eyed the garlic on the table, left over from the evening meal. It was a long shot, but she had no other choice. He was hunting her, she could feel it. With a shaking hand, she reached out for a large, round bulb.

The word ran through her like water, stilling both her arm and her mind. She was so close to the garlic. Just a few more inches… she tried to reach, but her arm wouldn’t move. She turned her gaze to the metal box. The bloodstone shone so bright that its glow shone through the cracks in the lid.

If she wanted to control her body once more, there was no choice left but to use her werewolf power. While the magick of vampires and feys was more predatory, werewolf magick was more protective. She tried to pull her thoughts together to weave a basic spell, but the command to relax was too great. She dropped her arm and sagged against the tent pole as molten fire slipped up through her core, bringing with it a surge of desire. Her pussy clenched and her nipples pebbled in anticipation.
“Javier.” She arched her back against the pole as warm, silken ribbons embraced her and turned her muscles to water. She felt her body slip into the space between seconds, the place of the ancient immortals. Time eased to a standstill and she was helpless to stop it. “You found me.”

I have to say each of these authors complimented each other in this book. The stories kept you hopping and the domination and submission of each character had you wanting more from each story. There isn't one story where it slowed down—it was one continuous hot sexual tension-filled book.

Xavier doesn't give Sienna the chance to think of their love as a mistake and he shows her what she can't deny.
