ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Authorities say a suspected burglar stashed some of his stolen loot on his person.
David Chavez, 27, is accused of stealing a video game system, jewelry and prescription medication from a friend's house in southwest Albuquerque last week.
Police said the homeowners caught him in the backyard and fought him to the ground, but Chavez wriggled out of his pants, hopped a fence and ran off.
An officer later spotted Chavez wandering around near Unser Boulevard and Blake Road, bleeding and disoriented.
He was taken to the hospital where the stolen medication turned up on an x-ray deep inside his anal cavity.
Chavez is charged with burglary and evidence-tampering.
