Saturday night's game at Raley Field was a 4-1 Rivercats victory. Sacramento's pitching only gave up two hits. When I got there I figured it would be a run scoring night as the flags in center field were blowing straight out. But it was not to be. I sat with my new camp chair in center field, right under the flag pole. One good thing about the Rivercats games is that it appears the radio broadcast isn't delayed any more. So at least for yesterday and today, I got to listen to Johnny Doskow call the game. Many a night I've camped at Sandy Beach and listened to the broadcasts while watching the sun set. It started to sprinkle for about 45 seconds and that scared off people who started packing up and leaving. Even before the fireworks.Sunday's game was a 5-2 Cats victory. They drew 7500 people on Mother's Day, which I guess is a good turnout. I recall back in the day being in Lancaster, watching Stockton play the Jethawks on Mother's Day and the place was sold out with over 5000 fans.
Sacramento plays a rare Monday day game and that's why I'm staying an extra day. They have one more Monday day game in August and something tells me I'll come up for the weekend when that happens.
